  • Death Certificate of a Pre-deceased Spouse: If applicable.

  • Vehicle Registration: Logbooks or registration papers for cars, trailers, or boats.
  • Bank Statements: Recent statements for all current, savings, and investment accounts.
  • Share Certificates: Documentation for stocks, shares, or unit trusts.
  • Life Insurance Policies: Details of any policies, including the name of the insurer and policy numbers.
  • Business Interests: Any partnership agreements or shareholder certificates.

3. Liabilities and Debt Information

  • Mortgage Bond Details: Current outstanding balance on home loans.
  • Credit Card & Retail Accounts: Recent statements for all outstanding debt.
  • Medical Aid & Hospital Bills: Any unpaid medical expenses.
  • Funeral Expenses: Invoices and proofs of payment for funeral arrangements.

4. Beneficiary Information

  • Identity Documents: Certified copies of the ID/Passports of all named heirs and beneficiaries.
  • Proof of Relationship: Birth certificates (if the deceased died without a Will and children are heirs).
  • Contact Details: Current addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses for all heirs.
